Serving students since 1936, we are the Newman Catholic Campus Ministry at The University of Akron.
Located steps from UA on the campus of the historic St. Bernard Catholic Church, we offer various avenues of Faith enrichment and fellowship throughout the week with Sunday Mass, Wednesday dinners, men’s and women’s small groups, praise and worship, bible study and other social functions.
RooCatholic is an instrument of the Holy Spirit, providing a joyful and faithful community for students. Members of our community grow in understanding of the Catholic Church and of the love and truth that it holds for all of humanity. Not only do students grow in their interior relationship with Christ, but they are transformed into influential leaders that have a true conviction for the faith.
RooCatholic takes pride in serving the community, locally and beyond. Each year, our ministry logs countless service hours at campus events, church functions and on regional service trips.
RooCatholic’s mission is to witness the Catholic faith to The University of Akron community nourished by the sacraments, edified by formation and strengthened by community for the greater glory of God.
